Google redirect virus

I have had the dreaded Google Redirect Virus for a few weeks now. It looks like it only affect Firefoxs, not Chrome. I run windows 7 64 & micropsoft security essentials. I have tried Malware Bytes, Spybot, TDSS Killer manually clearing the cache & more. Still no luck. Has anyone else gotten this? Thanks.

Re: Google redirect virus

Geez, stop downloading your porn and maybe the viruses will subside. :smileywink:

Sounds like it's time to format.

Re: Google redirect virus

Look in the logs of the anti-virus programs. They should tell you which ones you have. If you then do a lookup online for those names you can find information on how to remove them manually. Usually I just look in Security Essentials logs, get the paths and then go in and strip them out of the registry and out of the directories (usually Temp and Temporary Internet Files) It can take awhile, but you can get them.

Otherwise, drop your drive into another computer and have it do the scan and remove while the Trojans lay dormant.

Sync, there's PORN on the Internet!?!?!?!  I hope I'm able to find it. Not like it's going to be sent to my in-box or anything!

looks like I have a bit of work to do. Thanks for the tip.

^Try that. In particular make sure proxies aren't enabled in Firefox, check the hosts file and make sure TDDSServ.sys isn't enabled in device manager.

Re: Google redirect virus

Better Format your system, or show it to the system administrator.
