Re: Tribes Vengeance: New Hotness?

It'll will be hot instantly because of its wide fanbase but I don't know if it will have the staying power of the earlier versions....  Look at the competition it will be against.

I said...:

I retract my previous statement.  This game is going to be phenomenal!!!!  The multiplayer looks so strong:smileyvery-happy:, I worried about the tribs series for a while but it seems as though its back on track.

I just don't know - I was a big fan of both Tribes. The game is pretty (but that was expected). It seems to me that a lot of what has been removed is what made Tribes TRIBES and not some UT2004 mod. I don't remember having a problem with 30 minute games - it was a lot of fun to have a pitched battle. Why do we need to have flag caps going back and forth? Isn't that UT2004? I liked the big bases and I liked that heavy armor was slow and hard to deal with. Again - this is what made it Tribes. I'm still testing the game..It's fun. But...I'm sorry, it's not Tribes. It's a UT2004 mod. I fail to see why we needed it. Tribes 2 and Tribes Classic have done well - where is the logic in REMOVING what made them great? Skiing..well I've always considered it an exploit - one person is not meant to rule the map in Tribes. Now it's a big part of the game...further making it non-team based, IMHO. (I'm not trying to re-start the skiing fight - just making a point) I could go on - I'm fairly disappointed. It's a basically fun game - different from UT2004 but not that much. At this point, I don't plan to buy it - it's just not bringing back the Tribes fun to me.
