Oh man, I've been hopelessly sucked into this game for a week now and I've barely scratched the surface.  My initial impressions can be found here.  In short it's Forza 2 with more content, polish, and better graphics which is probably the biggest compliment I can think of.  It is almost too big though.  12 hours of drive time and I just broke 10% career completion?!  That's 100+ hours in car for the career completely excluding painting and upgrading cars along the way.  If it were the dry summer months like June, that would be a great thing but in the thick of the holiday season, I'm finding it a little distressing.  So has anyone else picked it up yet?  I can't wait to make a Frag Night out of it.  If someone else does have the game, look up my storefront and buy a design so I can get seller achievement.   Anyway, I'm itching to get home and play more.  Amazing stuff.

got mine and have done about 8hrs so far and covered 7%.

pity that Turn10 have ditched online system that was in Forza 2 for a more lobby based system with hoppers, it does make the online aspect of the game a serious meh!

i hear that T10 are not looking to alter the online aspect and so many gamers are going back to Forza 2 for there online fix.

anyone else think the online is pants?

^ I only play online games with friends in private matches anyway so it doesn't affect me.  I usually sympathize with the sentiment that players should have as much freedom as possible to customize their gaming experience as they like be it through private servers, mods, crazy modes, etc.

I picked it up last week on the 27th and played it for 20something hrs so far(F3 pretty much destroyed my last weekend). I just began the 4th season and am loving every minute of it. Admittedly, my favorite part of it this time around is the new way of progressing through the season. Seems more thought out and balanced overall. From the graphics side of things, I really like how much more effort Turn10 put into the tracks this time around. While the cars do look a lot better then in F2, the backgrounds have improved even more so. I actually don't mind racing the same tracks repeatedly this time around, as there is a lot more to look at and experience overall. Playing F2 I got tired really quickly of most of the tracks. Also, lots of nice additions in terms of tracks and cars. My current favorites are the Audi R8 V10 and Enzo FXX, and as for tracks its the Old LeMans and the full Nurburgring. I really like using those to compare cars and their setups. Dragstrips were also a nice touch.

As far as cars go, I'm slightly disappointed. While there is lots to choose from, for some reason the 2009 Nissan GT-R, Mclaren F1, McLaren F1 LM, Pagani Zonda F, Koenigsegg CCX, and the 2009 Aston Martin Vantage are all missing for some reason(among others). I mean, if not all of these then at least some should be available straight out of the box without having to wait for DLC; assuming they'll even be available in the future. I find this quite annoying as most of these are many people's favorites(including mine). Thats quite the cock-up Turn10. No other nicer way of saying it. 

Aside from that flaw, the game has improved leaps and bounds over F2. Now if only I could justify spending $300+ on a nice racing wheel setup for the 360.
