If I can dig up my old controller for my PC i'll definitely be in for some NFS. Guess I'd better start looking and make sure it still works.

I cannot stress enough the benefit for having a wired 360 controller over any other.  This game, and most others these days, was designed for its use.  Once you plug it in, the game's menus automatically change to to the buttons on the 360 controller.  It'll be a wise $30 purchase, I assure you.

While that's cool and all Fish, I almost always end up remapping controls anyways even on gamepads.  Must just be me, but I never seem to agree with the "default" layouts in pretty much any game.  Most games aren't smart enough to change the onscreen icons as well once you do that.

Re: Firingsquad Frag Nights General Info

Well, my controller works but the game doesn't. :smileysad:

The game sees the controller just fine and I had to map the controlls. Works fine and even had an option to kill the rumble which is nice but I already killed it in the contoller settings cause I hate it much. It's an old Logitech Rumble pad. Damn thing is huge........and dusty.

Re: Firingsquad Frag Nights General Info

Shame about the consolitis in Blur... I had to use a hack just to get my rumblepad to work as the game supports ONLY the 360 controller and doesn't allow any customization of controls WHATSOEVER. The hack works, but I'm not sure how well it's working... controls seem questionable at times.

Update time.

Current Tenative Schedule: post your thoughts

- Dec 03: Bloody Good Time
- Dec 10: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (PC)
- Dec 17: Demigod
- Dec 24: Frontlines: Fuel of War

- Dec 31: OFF - New Years Eve

- Jan 07: Blur (PC)

Fish must have been good this year because Santa is bringing him just what he's been asking for.  Frontlines and Blur.

If anyone is missing those games, grab them during the inevitably Steam holiday sale.

Re: Firingsquad Frag Nights General Info

So how may people got Frontllines during that sale? I still don't have it, but I'll grab it.

Wait a sec . . . Christmas eve? That might be a tough one to make. Didn't realize that. My wife's siblings will be sacking out downstairs where my desk is. Crap!

So do we wanna skip Xmas eve too?  I don't think I have anything going on but I probably should stay up too late playing video games anyway.  I got a long day of family stuff the next day.

If I do get to play Xmas eve, it'll probably be really late and with something single player so I don't wake anyone up.

I'd say Demigod because I missed the last one but unfortunately I'll be headed to Florida for a friend's funeral.

Haha! It didn't take long to get you hooked, Fish. You'll need therapy within a month's time. :smileytongue:  The last Frag Night I attended was Demigod. Zero had to IM me to pry me away from Minecraft to play DG for an hour.

How does this look?

Jan 7:  Blur (not sure we have enough but i'd like to try and it's short notice anyway)

Jan 14:  Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Jan 21:  Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Jan 28:  Lead and Gold

We could totally do a Minecraft night if we use Zero's server.  Nev's is private and pretty locked up tight.

Re: Firingsquad Frag Nights General Info

Looks good. You don't need many people to have fun with Blur. I had a blast one-on-one, which I was lucky to play due to the scarcity of online players. We're gonna quit and jump into Minecraft after a while anyway.

We are, aren't we? : )

Lead & Gold is the only game on have on that list. I don't think I'm interested in starting from scratch on Zero's MC server, especially just for one night. You guys shoud try to get Blur going on.

Maybe we could make it an open Frag Night (since it's short notice), see who shows up, and then decide what to play. It's an idea anyway.

Re: Firingsquad Frag Nights General Info

The open Frag Night is a pretty cool idea.  I do worry that someone is going to walk away empty handed though if everyone decides on a game they don't have though.

Re: Firingsquad Frag Nights General Info

I like the 'figure it out Friday' plan.  We'll try that out this week and see how it goes.  Anyone planning on attending should come with 2-3 games in mind they would like to play and we'll suss it out from there.  Try to be punctual or risk losing your vote.

And Fish, not to get your hopes up but there are now at least 3 people here who own the PC version of Nail'd. :smileywink:
