Was it all done via the Internet or did you actually go down to their Offices on Whyte? They still are above Chapters right?

This post has been shown to be an effective, decay preventive dentifrice that can be of significant value when used in a conscientiously applied program of oral hygiene and regular professional care.
-The A.D.A. P.S. - The original post was too painfully moronic to keep in it's previous form and has thus been replaced with a much more useful suggestion from the American Dental Association. However, for the curious, it was regarding a confusion between the original owner of the MDK series and all around purveyor of evil Shiny Entertainment and Bioware the creator of MDK2. 02-26-2004 04:17 PM Wonder what those other 2 titles were mentioned at the end of the interview. Did he give any sorta hint at all?
I know because of licensing that they can't legally make a Baldur's Gate III but honestly I would love to see it happen. I have hopes for a KOTOR II, but I hope they release it on PC first as the Xbox version just doesn't have "it".
I remember reading back in December about Black Isle studios closing up and I'm glad to see this hasn't really affected Bioware. Some of my favorite games have come outta Bioware or developers under Bioware.
I just hope that one of the titles hes talking about is some sorta D&D type RPG. In my opinion none of the other developers even come close to the quality and "heart" that goes into Biowares games. Just look at the difference between Temple of Elemental Evil by Atari and any Bioware game like KOTOR or Baldur's Gate(technically Black Isle Studios but under Bioware).

No, they didn't give any hint at all. The days of BioWare teasing press with previews and "woops, we let that slip" remarks are pretty much over. They're a big company now and have too many contracts with too much to lose to goof off. Black Isle was actually an Interplay subsidiary. BioWare is an independent developer who happened to be under contract to Interplay for their first few games. Things got ugly at the end, mostly due to finances I hear (which isn't surprising, given Interplay's financial record.) Remember that Atari's just a publisher. They also published Neverwinter Nights after BioWare's settlement with Interplay permitted them to shop the game around to other publishers. Atari isn't completely responsible for Temple of Elemental Evil. I like the Troika guys, but honestly, they dug their own hole. IMO, they stayed TOO faithful to the original module and a lot of the ideas just don't translate very well. Re: BioWare Interview with Ray and Greg discussionOptions

Ah **bleep** it, who can keep who owns what straight? Shiny used to own MDK, apparently I didn't get the memo on the change of venue.

Interplay owns MDK, I think. They just gave MDK2 to BioWare to develop.
I could be wrong though, it may be that Shiny licensed MDK2 to BioWare through Interplay.

Gotcha, sorry about that.

Your right I can't keep whose whats publisher for which developer. Between Atari, Bioware, Black Isle Studios and Interplay I can't tell whose who. All I know for sure is that I'll pretty much buy any PC game that has Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk's name on it without even having to see a review for it, regardless of who the publisher or developers name on the package is. 02-26-2004 08:10 PM Yeah, I was psyched about Arcanum but Trokia really **bleep**ed that up. I've never played an RPG so unbalanced, I can't believe it got through QA.
For those that never played Arcanum you could pretty much be a magic user or a gunman. Except...gunmen were totally useless. The first level damage spell never, ever, ever missed and did more damage than most guns do in the ENTIRE GAME. Add to that guns miss 70 percent of the time even If you dump your entire skills into it. As well you had to buy or make bullets but you only had to sleep to get more magic. Seriously any "unbalance" in games like Warcraft 2 or CS have nothing on Arcanum. It was never fixed either. Although the game seemed like it was DOA when it hit the stores anyways |
